Vivint customers can enroll their thermostat in a Demand Response (DR) program, if offered by their utility or energy provider. Customers receive incentives from their energy provider for enrolling in the program and allowing their thermostat to be adjusted during peak demand periods. When a DR event is scheduled, customers are notified in advance and have the option to participate or opt out. For those who participate, Vivint will automatically adjust the thermostat to help reduce grid strain while maintaining comfort.
